2 ) Act like an Editor – not a Market Manager
Those who create content in your company propobly belongs to som kind of market department. Therefore, all modern Market Managers should act like editors – not as marketing managers. Your job is to value news and come up with suggestions for relevant content and angles that you can publish.
3 ) Tell the same story over and over and over again!
A strong story deserves to be told more than once! Remember that you always can tell your story over and over again – presented it in different exciting ways.
4 ) Learn to hate Corporate Bullshit
Even if you think your company is the biggest, best and most beautiful it is actually few people who cares. Perhaps your mother. The old marketing with self glorifying messages is totally useless and leads nowhere. Your job as an Editor (or Market Manager) is to develop allergy to Corporate Bullshit.
5 ) Learn to love the tools Google Analytics och Adwords
Big Data = Big Opportunity. Information is the key to win the war. Make sure that you understand your customers’ behavior and above all – make sure to gather data about your customers in a useful way. Learn the tools Google Anlytics and Google Adwords.
6 ) Learn how to use Market Automation
To automate your content is crucial. Find the system that suits you and your business. Using some kind of automation for status updates on social media , blog posts or newsletters is a must!
7 ) Get yourself some Social Media Skills
Forget Kotler and what you’ve previously learned about channel strategies. To understand what social media means is fundamental for your success. To use it the right way is the key to be shared or not.
